The holidays are all about celebration and…taking pictures! Take your holiday photos is festive gear with Santa’s beard, hat and of course a classy mustache and lips. Create your own props using a few simple and easy to find ingredients. Here we go!
What you’ll need:
- White, Red, and Black poster board paper
- Glue Stick
- Pencil with Eraser
- Scotch tape
First and foremost, you’ll need to outline each prop on the poster board stock. Santa’s hat will require both red and white poster board stock. Santa’s beard will require just white stock, and finally the lips and mustache will call for red, white and black stock. Templates to create stencils for each prop can be found at the bottom of this post.
Once, you have sketched out your shapes for each prop, go ahead and carefully cut along the penciled edges. It’s ok to leave some pencil behind as you can use this as the back side of your mask.
With the Santa hat and lips you will be working with two layers and this is where you’ll need to use your glue stick. The Santa hat will have a fur collar around the base of the hat and a white pom pom at the tip of the hat.
The lips will also require two layers. The red stock will be used as the base outline for the lips and then white stock will be used for the mouth opening.
Finally, you’ll attach chop stick to the base of each mask so you have a handle for each. You can easily affix the chopstick to your mask using scotch tape.
At the end you should be left with a few props that look like this…
