Orange Whiskey Sour

We just love this orange whiskey sour recipe! It has the perfect blend of sour and sweet and it is so simple to make. We were inspired by the The Crepes of Wrath with this whiskey sour. We tweaked it slightly by adding a little fresh squeezed orange juice to it. The citrusy notes make this orange whiskey sour oh so joyful.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces bourbon or whiskey
  • 2 lemons (you’ll want to squeeze both of them into a dish)
  • 1 orange (squeezed as well)
  • 1/2 ounce of simple syrup
  • orange wedge or cherry for garnish

Directions:

Combine the lemon juice, orange juice, simple syrup and whiskey into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for 30 seconds and then strain into your choice of glass.

We served up the orange whiskey sour in our Alexandrite glasses because they are just the perfect size and we love the orange and violet contrast. It just makes the cocktail pop even more! We also chose to garnish our glass with a simple orange wedge, and of course you can also opt to add a cherry on top. Cheers!
