{Inspiration Vignette} Old Hollywood Glam

Oh, old Hollywood glamour, what can we say? You are a classic. We love your bold prints, your sophisticated aura and your unrelenting fearlessness of sparkle and glitz. You breathed Marilyn into our lives and you emboldened us with timeless style that transcends time in culture, art and design. We thank you for continuing to inspire us!

This week we felt an itch to celebrate the old Hollywood look. When we think Hollywood “back in the day”, Marilyn Monroe definitely pops into mind. We also think black, white, patterns and lots of glam.  It’s a time to celebrate and also the perfect time to whip out that sexy black crystal stemware to toast the opening night of Marilyn’s new movie.

Did you know? Marilyn was actually born Norma Jeane Mortenson. – bio.com

7:00pm – Marilyn’s Vanity

Though before Marilyn heads out to celebrate, she’ll need the perfect star-studded treatment and the vanity to go along with it. We can just picture it all: the marble countertops, the perfect scents, makeup, and the fresh flowers that celebrate her stardom.

8:30pm – At The Premiere Party

Post prep, ensues the premiere party, and let’s just say champagne will definitely flow all night. The question is… how will Marilyn enjoy her bubbly? Will she opt for a flute or for a champagne coupe? We aren’t sure, but either way we can just envision her toasting with nothing else but chic black crystal.

Did you know? Marilyn’s films grossed more than $200 million dollars. Phew! That’s a good chunk of change today let alone old Hollywood. – bio.com

10:30pm – After Hours

Party is over, but the night is still young. It’s time to go home and wind down with a nice glass of Pinot Noir. We are thinking that Marilyn would have loved to savor her favorite reds in a sexy and stylish grey wine glass. It’s the perfect nightcap to a “stellar” night.
