18 Delights That Go Great with Lobster

“It wasn’t about the taste or the ingredients that made the lobster bake so flavorful and great. It was more about the presentation which was constructed from layers of ingredients, tastes, sides, desserts, people, things and backdrops. This made the lobster transform from a baked crustacean to an everlasting experience etched in my memory, heart and taste buds.”

This past weekend I attended a lobster bake. This wonderful event of lobsters, clams, cakes and beautiful sunsets brought out the glutton within. It was sheer delight, just what I would have ordered at a five star restaurant.

There is nothing like setting aside daunting thoughts of calories, exercise and work to truly enjoy pure taste, good company and beautiful surroundings. Seldom, do we get the chance to do this and not feel guilty.

But, far from all of my worries (about 300 miles northwest of the metro area) in a small beach alcove nestled peacefully on the river banks of Interlaken, New York, I did just that: locked out daily thoughts and focused all of my will and energy on all that was beautiful and all that tasted delicious.

During the process, I discovered that: it wasn’t about the taste or the ingredients that made the lobster bake so flavorful and great. It was more about the presentation which was constructed from layers of ingredients, tastes, sides, desserts, people, things and backdrops. This made the lobster transform from a baked crustacean to an everlasting experience etched in my memory, heart and taste buds.

Here are the 18 delights that made my lobster so darn good:

1. Clams

At the end of the day, any meal can lose its potential impact without the right experience. It’s everything that we see, smell, feel married with the taste of cuisine that makes it so extraordinary and truly memorable.
