Thyme for a Little Lemon and Gin

  • 4 sprigs of thyme
  • 1/2 ounce of your choice of gin
  • 1/4 ounce of an herbal liqueur like Becherovka
  • 1/2 ounce of fresh squeezed lemon or lemon juice
  • honey for a little bit of natural sweetness
  • Ice

This yummy cocktail was inspired by One Martini’s Meyer Lemon Gin cocktail. Instead of Chartreuse we used Becherovka, a beloved Bohemian herbal liqueur and natural raw honey in place of sugar. The lemony taste gives this whimsical cocktail a nice light taste, and the earthy herbal notes of the thyme and Becherovka make this cocktail great even in the colder months.

First, you’ll want to start out by squeezing  a 1/2 ounce of fresh lemon juice ( or you can use pre-squeezed lemon juice) and add it to your shaker with 2 sprigs of thyme. Once these two ingredients are muddled together, introduce a 1/4 ounce of your choice of herbal liqueur. We’ll be using Becherovka.

Next add a 1/2 an ounce of gin to the shaker and incorporate about a half a teaspoon of honey. We recommend organic or raw honey if it is available. Then add ice and shake!

Pour the incorporated ingredients into a chilled goblet and garnish with two sprigs of thyme. We chose to serve this lemon gin cocktail in our Morning Frost Glass. The glass has a lovely matte design along it that adds to the chilly effect and is perfect for that wintry look. By the way, don’t be afraid to mix it up, especially when you are entertaining. Using a wine glass for a cocktail can make the cocktail pop even more. There is no need to stick to tumblers.

We hope you enjoy this cocktail! Serve it up during the holidays for your guests.  It’s a great tasting cocktail that also looks so good. Cheers!
