This week we are digging this ginger bourbon cocktail. Inspired by the folks at Kitchn, this cocktail features light and citrusy notes that can easily be confused with a light summer drink. The mix of bourbon though, adds the right amount of heat to make it a cozy winter drink. Coined the Nor’ easter, this ginger bourbon cocktail bears the name of the storms that bury us in snow at times; those we don’t welcome. However, we certainly welcome this Nor’easter, anytime. Here’s what you’ll need:
2 ounces of bourbon
1/2 ounce maple syrup
1/2 lime juice
Fill your cocktail shaker with ice, bourbon, maple syrup and lime juice. Shake well, strain and serve over rocks. Top off the glass with ginger beer. We served the Nor’ easter in our modern Colada DOF glass.
