Holiday Time Cranberry Sangria Recipe

This cranberry sangria will have your guests smiling from ear to ear. Inspired by Cravings of a Lunatic, cranberry sangria is definitely a very good choice of beverage for this holiday season.

Here’s what you will need:

  • 1 bottle (750 ml) of Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 1/4 cup of orange liqueur like Cointreau
  • 2-4 cups of fresh cranberries
  • 1-2 cups of sparkling water
  • ice

First, in a pitcher, you’ll want to combine your choice of red wine with the orange liqueur and fresh cranberries. Next, refrigerate the mixture for at least 4 hours. Once, the cocktail has chilled add sparkling water to it.

We garnished the rim of our cocktail glass with sugar. For an easier serving experience, we also took some of the cranberries from the mixtures and some fresh ice and added it into our cocktail glass first.

We then poured the cranberry sangria over the ice and cranberries. This ensures that the sangria won’t splash outside the stemware as it is poured over the ice and cranberries.

A great way to serve up this cranberry sangria is in a nice wine glass. We chose our Fuego Glass for this cocktail. The Fuego design mimics the movement of flames, and we thought the deep red of the sangria would go very well with this theme. Make sure to check out the Fuego wine glass set in our shop.
