Apple Cider Bourbon Cocktail

As the days get colder, the sound of apple cider just sounds so tempting, and a little apple cider mixed with Bourbon just brings it home. We were inspired by Judy from I’m Bored Let’s Go with this recipe. We made a  tweak to the recipe by pulsing a little fresh lemon and a quarter of a Macintosh apple with our apple cider to give it some freshness and texture.

Here’s what you’ll need for this delicious cocktail recipe:

  • 1 inch piece of fresh ginger
  • 2 shots apple cider
  • 1 shot of bourbon
  • 1/4 Macintosh apple (peeled and cored)
  • 1 slice lemon
  • cinnamon sugar for glass rim
  • cinnamon stick for garnish

First, you’ll use the fresh ginger to wet the rim of the glass. Then you can roll the rim of your glass in either cinnamon sugar (which is what we used) or you can mix a little bit of granulated sugar with cinnamon powder. Once the glass rim in set you can begin prepping your cocktail.

Next, you’ll want to take 2 shots of apple cider, the Macintosh apple and peeled lemon slice and pulse them quickly in a blender or bullet. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the ginger piece to release the juices. Then add the apple cider mixture and a shot of bourbon  to cocktail shaker. Shake well, and then serve over ice into your cinnamon rimmed old glass.

We served the apple cider bourbon cocktail in our Martinki Old Fashion Tumbler, and garnished it with a cinnamon stick. Cheers!
